Dr. Adejoke Fatunde is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Fatunde has worked in diverse settings around the world that have given her exposure to the cultural basis that impacts an individual’s perception of their desired smile. She was drawn to orthodontics after treating an 8 year old patient whose self-confidence, oral function, aesthetics, and overall individual (and community) perception was changed by undergoing treatment with removable orthodontics appliances. This experience set the trajectory for Dr. Fatunde’s treatment philosophy: to connect with both parents and patients, understand their expectations, as well as provide and communicate with each patient a uniquely designed treatment plan.
She has been practicing for over 40 years. Dr. Fatunde is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and Southwest Society of Orthodontics. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to gospel music and often sings along!

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial consultation by age 7 to assess future jaw growth and potential orthodont needs. (from 7 years old and up).
People from age 7 and up can benefit from orthodontic treatment. Common issues include overbites, underbite, crowding, gaps, unerupted teeth, missing teeth and jaw discrepancies.
Traditional braces, invisalign, retainers, correctional appliances.
Orthodontics moves teeth, while orthopedics influences jawbone growth. (orthopedic treatment is most effective during childhood growth and orthodontics can be done at any age).
In some cases both orthodontic and orthopedic treatments are used together for optimal results. This combined approach can:
*improve facial aesthetics and profile. *Achieve a balanced and functional bite. *Reduce the need for future extractions to create space.
You will meet the Treatment Coordinator which is in charge of various tasks during the first consultation for your orthodontic treatment. The TC will take some dental records (X-rays and Pictures) and our orthodontist will review your medical/dental history and dental records, do a comprehensive exam and will explain treatment options. The TC will walk you through the process explaining treatment options and answering any questions, discuss fees and financing, and schedule appointments (follow up appointments if needed).
